Our free download this month is a funkalicious instrumental cover of the Edwin Starr tune “There You Go,” performed by the Fania All Stars. Released in the aptly titled 1973 LP Latin-Soul-Rock, it found salsa stars such as Ray Barretto, Roberto Roena, Willie Colón and Larry Harlow jamming with Billy Cobham, Jan Hammer and Jorge Santana – under the musical direction of Johnny Pacheco. A time capsule from the ’70s, this Latin soul gem has lost none of its hypnotic power. Enjoy.
